The Servant Leader’s Word
Dear Brothers and Sisters:
“And the Lord answered me, and said, write the Vision, and make it plain upon the tables, that he may run that readeth it”. ~ Habakkuk 2:2
Greetings in the spirit of prosperity, of good health, greater love and peace; and the promise of God to enlarge the Columbia District’s territory.
The Lord has smiled upon us with favor during the past Conference year. He guided and directed; which was a journey through new paradigm. The District was indeed highly blessed navigating through these uncharted waters.
The Ministry of Christian Education sailed us through the channels of Evangelism training and certified 180 servants of God through empowering the Local Churches to witness by knocking on doors, visiting college campuses, and other public venues. The result of this journey led nearly 500 souls to Christ. Secondly, the ministry of the CED partnership with ITC, The Interdenominational Theological Center in Atlanta, GA, provided classes at the District office. These candidates will graduate with ITC students in May 2011, receiving a certification in Theology.
This year, the Lord has given the single word, “Vision”. In this context, the word “Vision” is the act or the power of anticipating that which will or may come to be, and it’s rooted supernaturally. I believe that God has embraced and empowered the District to become spiritual entrepreneurs, that we may meet the diverse needs and interest of His people. The word of God speaks through the writer of Proverbs, “A good man leaves an inheritance of moral stability and goodness to his children’s children, and the wealth of the sinner eventually finds its way into the hands of the righteous for which it was laid up for”.
The time has come to exercise our faith more, to trust God, seeking those things that He has bequeathed to you (the Church). The prophet Habakkuk warns not to speak in riddles; rather, get to the point, make it plain. Clarke’s Commentary says, write it down that the new members may read the Vision and not forget the promises of God to bless us with much richness. Albert Einstein said that insanity is doing the same things over and over again and expecting different results.
We accept the challenges of God by faith to receive the Vision. The Vision of our church continues with the ultimate purpose to provide programs which will enhance the entire social spiritual development of all people. Where as the Columbia District, by the direction of God, seeks to establish multi streams of income beyond the 3 Ts. We strongly support and encourage Tithes; the Vision suggests a level of investment.
We are challenged to evaluate our Christian Character, attitude, mindset, values, and faith through creating Generational Wealth for God’s people.
In the Service of God,
